I have been unemployed for seven months. While still buoyed on the coffers of middle class parents, I will not discount my efforts for hunting down that prized steed. After all, it ran amok in my life, trampling through obligations and requirements, first nibbling and now rapaciously stuffing morsels of my life and of those who I’ve enlisted on this Atalantian hunt.

Now a call comes in, stating an internal corruption has reduced my resume (which has been blessed with probably about twenty onlookers, God bless) to symbols and gibberish. That’s over fifteen jobs, cover letters, and too many hours of my life gone, with no spoils to show.

The hunt for the Calydonian Boar knew its own tribulations. Atalanta, on her conquest to strike down the beast, lost her love to fate: the charred piece of wood irreparably tied to her husband’s fate burned, under the hands of a vengeful mother.

You’ll be encountered with the Fates, from ill-fortuned conversions to Olympian disfavor, but the journey’s not over. Atalanta would sail with the Argonauts, embarass her would-be suitors, and give birth to an infamous warrior against Thebes. While I’m no woman (or warrior princess with inordinate strength), you just gotta learn and realize what to improve on.

So unbelievably grateful for the past week.

Would like to appreciate all the friends:

1.) Who turn on the lights even when the sun’s glaring outside

2.) Who help you break into houses

3.) Give you a great time at parties, especially when they pass out at their own party

4.) The new friends I met; had the best of weekends in psuedo-racist cultural nights and Sunday Broken-Hearts-Club-Brunching; J#1&2; the “pedophile”; one of the funniest people I’ve ever met; daves & two of the most visible inspirations in my life

5.) For the gang burning up in Socal, I miss you all so much, especially saying random ass shit and planning all our gatherings poorly.

For the family, who I can never thank enough for being so accepting and supportive. Happy birthday mum & best of luck to my brother in litigation!

For capital H-I-M & jesus, the embodiment of love and empathy (though I need to improve being kinder to myself (be more humble!!) and others), for giving my health and opportunity.

Happy to have HIM.

The key to happiness is realization. A moderately smart/successful/attractive/stable individual taught me something: you deserve your happiness, and no one should take it away from you.

And you honor and remember those who make you happy.

I am so grateful, blessed, and privileged to have the wonderful set of family and friends that I do have. Before I forget this brief episode, I wanted to immortalize the moments we had.

- $10-to-$5 coupons from Yelp, Shirls fails to use the discount, badgers the cashier for food, suspiciously eyes Channers/my yums, and responds to shaky motions

-Shirls evident displeasure with all displays at the Natural History Museum; “Give every exhibit its fair share”; Rotunda w/ Creepy Noise; Shirley is a borderline child kidnapper; the Insect Zoo has…6 insects?; obviously Gems aren’t important; “I want to see humans” says Shirley, who immediately after rejects the California History exhibit.

- BUTTONS. Avian interactivity overloads Shirls with buttons; Channers weighs as much as 23 lb of bone; “THEY’RE MOVING”; we find a secret staircase

- DISCOVERY ROOM: we re-rack all preserved animals; abuse compound microscope by inappopriately magnifiying preserved goods & minerals from other stands; horns become hats, helmets, and phallic representation; we made a child cry :(

- California Science Center: Too many buttons in The World of Life; we lose Shirley for ten minutes;our favorite show- the surgery room; Rot Zone displays time-lapse video of exploding rabbit; “It’s like I made life from nothing”, in reference to backwards-looping rotting strawberries

- Ecosystems: Shirls sits down in front of beautiful hologram of natural creations; tide pool has ridiculous ping-pong catching game (to represent barnacle filter feeding??): sending air shockwaves to represent river ripples; Shirley attempts to walk barefoot; “IT’S SO HOT, YOU ALL HAVE SUNGLASSES”

- Scouring our house for my brother’s folder

- “They have the hots for you” says Chun, after we almost crash into a neighboring car; Shirls kicks Chun out of shotgun seat; “Can we listen to music??”; GENDER IS A SOCIAL CONSTRUCT

- UCLA; everyone is ridiculously attractive; meet the three stooges; Wayne works in batcave-esque alcove; Rieber Dining Commons has huge line; banana dance distraction plan; 22-hour silence regulation prevents ping-pong; da harrison blinks; JUNTAO!; korean “comics”; great food & great scenery!; “you’re such a lesbian”, the only thing worse than being gay (“but you just said they have it better” - shirls)

- Parallel Parking Disasters; i have officially obstructed 30% of all L.A. traffic; Shirley and that disrespect; take fifteen minutes to get out of Pasadena alone due to wrong turns

- Come home to family and eat fruit!

Welcome. You have been chosen to participate in our “Assassins” program. An unknown, toxic gas has been detected in the Berkeley region, and we think you may consider our “game” of survival.

Our treatment program includes:

1.) Derivative of the game “Assassins” - you will be placed in five teams and receive special targets to eliminate in the Berkeley region. You will receive more data on equipment, safety zones, and rules at next week’s kickoff event, after the Wednesday Social from 9 - 10 PM, 305 Eshleman. The program is expected to last at most four weeks.

2.) Entry into our medical program - Sign up HERE to enter our program. Current doctors will accept sign ups until the kickoff event ( 3/14, from 9 - 10 PM, 305 Eshleman), where we will pair you with the appropriate control groups for swiftest recovery.

3.) Kickoff Event - Our triage gathering site will be held at Wednesday, 305 Eshleman from 9 - 10 PM. Additionally, medical staff have prepared food and an instructional safety video. We will announce your teams, your devices, and most importantly, the rules to stay alive.
